This is always the first foundation Chantal assesses, because it is the fastest and most frequently overlooked source of sleep disruption.

A baby who does not feel physically and emotionally settled cannot fall asleep independently, regardless of what technique is used. Wake Windows
Timing is the most underestimated variable in baby sleep. The amount of time your baby has been awake before sleep directly determines how easily they will fall asleep and how long they will stay asleep. Too short and there is insufficient sleep pressure. Too long and cortisol rises and actively works against settling. Getting this right changes outcomes, often from the very first night.
Sleep Pressure
Sleep pressure is your baby's natural biological drive to sleep. It builds while they are awake and releases when they sleep. Many families unknowingly work against it through naps that are too long, awake time that is too short, or play that is too passive.
